I had a catch-up with an old colleague this afternoon. We used to be in the same team within the IT department and worked closely together for a number of years….although he’s remained in IT where I managed to escape eighteen months ago.
It’s been a while since we last sat down and had a coffee and a good natter, and he was curious to know how I was getting on since finally cutting the umbilical cord and leaving IT.
“I’ve seen you around the building a few times and every time I see you, you seem to be smiling”
And that, right there, is why I needed to make the change.
