Not only does he not look like an idiot, I love him all the more for not wanting to lose his brains all over the place, and leave me with the mortgage.Rachiehttp://www.livingfordisco.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1750120863647373520.post-53475473989252939682009-01-13T10:51:00.000+00:002009-01-13T10:51:00.000+00:00judging by the number of people you see on crutche...judging by the number of people you see on crutches at this time of year.... limb damage and suchlike.swisslethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16708248700851998044noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1750120863647373520.post-33017182437457307372009-01-13T08:09:00.000+00:002009-01-13T08:09:00.000+00:00Why not stop throwing yourself off a mountain, thu...Why not stop throwing yourself off a mountain, thus removing the problem? Between then and now, I've crashed 5 times. Of those 5, my head hit the ground 3 times. Of those 3, the helmet did its job once. The two times I hit my head, but not the helmet, the ground was uneven and the helmet went into a depression in the ground, allowing my head to hit.

The one time the helmet did its job, I fell 20' (6m) at 15mph (24kph). I landed hard enough that I was unconscious for 5 minutes, and crushed my wrist. When I looked at my broken helmet later, I'd knocked a fist-sized chunk out of it.

Even though my helmet as done its job only once, I never ride without it. I figure that I never know when I'll crash and need it, and it's better to be safe than sorry.

Plus, You'd look hotter in a helmet.monogodohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08984785082196931235noreply@blogger.com
