Inception was great. Tom Hardy has probably been my favourite male actor of the past five years or so. I watched Bronson last weekend and admired its craft, but didn't think it was one of his best. (That accolade goes to the wonderful Stuart: A Life Backwards.) I also finally got round to watching The Boat That Rocked (yeah, bit of a post-holiday film fest to ward off the impending return to reality) and thought its poor reviews were largely unjustified - an enjoyable romp, I think you're supposed to say. One of my non-resolutions for this year is to see more films and The King's Speech is a tentative plan for the weekend.Hghttp://hydragenic.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1750120863647373520.post-60135974000542723002011-01-05T08:41:46.880+00:002011-01-05T08:41:46.880+00:00Moon is a corker - the kind of old school sci-fi m...Moon is a corker - the kind of old school sci-fi movie I didn't think they made any more. I also enjoyed The Brothers Bloom, with Adrien Brody and Mark Ruffalo. I saw it in April in Dunedin, but I'm not sure it got a cinema release here. Inception was pretty handy too, and I liked the Stieg Larsson films. I saw Avatar on the plane to LA from Auckland: perhaps not the screen size the director intended.....swisslethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16708248700851998044noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1750120863647373520.post-78626606686178052372011-01-05T07:35:00.397+00:002011-01-05T07:35:00.397+00:00Completely agree. In retrospect, this was my favourite film of 2009 by miles (or kilometres, I suppose, as it's Swedish).

Couldn't tell you what my favourite of 2010 was... Avatar, probably. Not a particularly filmic year for me.

2011's shaping up nicely. I watched Moon over the weekend and was captivated.Hghttp://hydragenic.comnoreply@blogger.com
