He used to be a lab tech, processing blood & urine samples (among other things). At one point he said urine was sterile, I added "to yourself." He corrected me and explained why urine is sterile to everyone, not just to oneself. Apparently there is no bacteria in urine. If there were, we'd all constantly have urinary tract infections.

The more you know.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05201444579451608701noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1750120863647373520.post-78342474450167571462014-01-21T21:18:28.624+00:002014-01-21T21:18:28.624+00:00That's awesome, Dan. I love my tattoos and may yet get more, but I don't think I'll be rushing to get any piercings, especially not there. Hats off to you. If I bump into that girl again, I'll be sure to fill her in on the scoop, especially the bit about healing (as long as you use your own urine, of course!swisslethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16708248700851998044noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1750120863647373520.post-33708578536608000452014-01-21T20:52:15.562+00:002014-01-21T20:52:15.562+00:00Trying to keep this SFW:
Of all the piercings I&#...Trying to keep this SFW:

Of all the piercings I've had (both ears, both nipples, Prince Albert), the PA healed the fastest of all, most likely due to the sterile urine aspect.

My shoes don't get damp, and yes it was worth it.

As for peeing straight, it's not an issue for me. I've had the piercing since March 15, 2000 (Beware the Ides). It started as a 10 gauge captive bead ring. In short order I'd sized up to 8, then 6, and finally 4 gauge. When gauging up, I switched jewelry type from the captive bead ring to a curved barbell. The captive bead ring is a hassle to remove, because of the pressure the ring exerts on the bead to keep it in place and also has an undesirable affect on the flow when relieving oneself. The curved barbell, on the other hand, has beads that are threaded on each end, so they simply unscrew when needed (and sometimes when not). I generally sit, as it's easier to deal with. If there's a urinal, I've learned that rotating the shaft so that the end is 180° from normal allows the stream to follow the curve of the bead up before gravity takes over, thus creating a normal-ish arc onto the porcelain, whereas if I'd just relieve myself normally, the stream would follow the bead around and exit either now or toward the rear, causing a mess. In a pinch, I can utilize the same method when standing at a commode, but aiming is much more difficult. The rotation also allows me to place my thumb on the "lower" threaded bead, forcing it against the hole, thus sealing it from leaks, and move the barbell as if it were controlled by a trackball, further affecting the aim.

Again, that's probably more than you want to know, and I could go into even more detail if you'd like.
