As a writer, that's the signal that you're arrived. <br /><br />I only wish I could get a subscription as well, but I have to be honest, I do well to even get my sunday paper out of the plastic wrapping its delivered in. <br /><br />And I don't think it makes you a boring conversationalist at all. I think it makes you fascinating, educated and well rounded. I like people who read the New Yorker the way I like the people who don't laugh when I say "I was listening to NPR the other day..."
