now don't you wanna grow up to be just like me?

You'll have to forgive me if I seem to have been repeating myself even more than normal around here over the last week or so.  I'm afraid you're just going to have to put up with it for a little while: I'm currently a featured link on the MS Trust's fundraising pages for the London Marathon this year.

Look!  We're wearing blue wigs and everything! And check out my soundbite too, eh?

As you know, C. and I are running the marathon and are hoping to raise around £3,000 for the MS Trust.  As a relatively small charity, they were delighted to have us on board as part of their team.  I've done a little bit of writing for them in the past (about Glastonbury, if you remember), and so when I offered to write about our journey towards the marathon, they were pretty keen. I'd imagined that they might want me to submit them a piece once every week or so, but they decided that by far the easiest way was to link directly here.  Because they're probably not all that interested in most of the other nonsense I usually talk about on here, I've set up an "MS Trust" tag, and they're linking directly to those posts.

You'll have to forgive me, but over the next few months, I might well be re-treading some old ground with an MS Trust audience in mind..... I'll probably be talking again about my diagnosis and how it affected me and the sorts of things I experience when I go out running.  In fact, I've got a meeting with them next week to talk about the marathon and to meet the staff and the other runners.  We'll probably discuss things I could talk about here then too.  You never know, someone might find this sort of stuff interesting.

I know that we all have our crosses to bear, and I hope I never come across as fishing for sympathy or anything.... it's just that some of these things might be directly relevant to people visiting the MS Trust website, and I can hardly expect them to trawl through the ten years worth of nonsense here to dig out stuff I might have covered before.  Apologies if that's a bit dull, and do feel free to glaze over in your own time.

Sound reasonable?

It's not like I haven't been repeating posts for much of the lifespan of this weblog anyway.  In fact, I reckon I've got about five different themes at most and I recycle them on a loop.

Oh.  You reckon fewer?

Well....maybe.

You can sponsor us here, by the way.  I should probably remember to mention that.
